(David A. Lieb, Associated Press) - A former rural Missouri sheriff’s deputy is suspected of killing his ex-wife and her new boyfriend before leading officers on a high-speed chase that ended with a shootout at an upscale hotel hosting a Christmas party for hundreds of doctors, nurses and their families, authorities said Sunday.
None of the hotel’s guests, which also included members of a youth hockey team, were injured in the Saturday night shootout just two blocks from the Missouri Capitol. [Click to read more…]

(Daily Mail BY MIKE O’BRIEN) - A man was charged with murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon on Monday after his step-daughter was shot dead and his wife, who was shot in the head, was left in a critical condition.
Guerino Annarumma, of Queens, New York, is accused of shooting his wife Olga Annaurmma, 57, and her daughter Valeria Kuzmina, 25, in their apartment just hours before they were due in court to finalize their divorce.

Brooke Fantelli, 43, of Romano, San Diego, was stunned by the taser gun by the Bureau of Land Management while she was participating in a photo shoot in the desert near El Centro late last month.

(Huffington Post) - Stephanie Rochester, a 35-year-old Superior, Colo. mother accused of smothering her 6-month-old son because she believed he had autism, will not face first-degree murder and child abuse charges, The Denver Post reports.
Stan Garnett, Boulder County District Attorney, says that he does not think prosecutors would be able to prove that she was sane at the time of the 2010 killing.

(Huffington Post) - An unidentified Sikh man in his mid-50s was stabbed while waiting for his flight on Sunday evening at Fresno’s Yosemite International Airport.
The man was waiting for his flight around 5:30pm on Sunday in the airport near the security checkpoint with his translator when a 26-year-old white man came up to him and stabbed him in the upper torso, Fresno Police Lieutenant Tom Rowe told the Fresno Bee.

(CBS Chicago) - It was a scene of sheer terror overnight, two men accosted an 80-year-old Roman Catholic priest as he lay sleeping in his South Side rectory and brutally beat him.
As CBS 2′s Susanna Song reports, police say shortly before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, the suspects broke into the rectory at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, at 9849 S. Throop St. in the Longwood Manor neighborhood, and found the Rev. Dan Mallette sleeping.

(Daily Mail By WIL LONGBOTTOM) - A 300 pound bodybuilder has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly savagely beat a couple as they returned to their home from a night out.
Ruben Arzu, 22, who weighs over 300lbs, was apparently under the influence of steroids and it took four police officers, two stun gun blasts and four sets of handcuffs to restrain him after the attack in Colton, California.
