(Daily Mail By DAISY DUMAS) - Flicking her bright red hair back, she swings up onto the pole, her thighs gripping the metal while the the audience cheers in applause.

At 252 pounds, LuAyne Barber – stage name Lulu – is not your average pole dancer.

But her ample body, a U.S. size 22, does not hold her back from the lifts, spins, slides, stands and grips that define the dance form’s athletic routines.

Instead, the 5’4″ Hanover, Maryland local is perhaps one of the most active in her pole dancing community, regularly competing against the toned, lithe bodies of her peers, since joining the circuit three years ago.

The 26-year-old, who works at a car dealership by day, has been pole dancing for five years, having taken up the unusual hobby in 2006 after having a baby.

As a former competitive cheerleader and dance student, Ms Barber was no stranger to the stage – but she still had to sum up a lot of courage to strip off and take a pole dancing class.

She told Closer magazine: ‘I’d always wanted to try it, but I was worried about what people would think. But when I turned up for my first class and everyone was in stilettos and tiny shorts, regardless their different sizes, I felt a lot better.’

She recalls how, when younger, she did not eat well – and though she wasn’t teased at school, she soon became ‘ashamed’ of her body.

The ‘poling’ classes changed her outlook: ‘I was instantly hooked. It was the first time I’d felt sexy in years.’

Writing on her site, Team-Lulu.com, the mother-of-two says she balances training on the 8-foot metal poles with her family life. She even has a practice pole installed in her home.

And while Lulu has gained something of a fanbase and has a YouTube channel dedicated to her increasingly ambitious moves, her husband, plumber Will Brown, 29, remains her number one fan.

‘Will loves my dancing. I’ve always been curvy. I’m not going to let my weight stop me doing what i love,’ she told the magazine.

Wearing a skin-tight leotard and five inch red wedge heels complete with calf ties, the red head is every part the pole dancer – but that doesn’t stop her from standing out because of her body shape and size.

Ms Barber told the magazine that dancers have called her fat and that she looks like a ‘beached whale.’ Her new found pastime saw her weight drop, only to creep back up since the birth of her second child.

Unperturbed, the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome sufferer has turned her hobby into a charity venture, too, with proceeds from Battle of the Pole Dance Studios she organises helping to raise money towards PCOS research.

The dancer, who is yet to win a title, runs workshops and writes that she ‘is not giving up her dream of becoming pro.’

(Huffington Post) - Stephanie Rochester, a 35-year-old Superior, Colo. mother accused of smothering her 6-month-old son because she believed he had autism, will not face first-degree murder and child abuse charges, The Denver Post reports.

Stan Garnett, Boulder County District Attorney, says that he does not think prosecutors would be able to prove that she was sane at the time of the 2010 killing.

Rochester had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, Fox31 reports, and her mental health had been evaluated by two separate doctors. However, last month prosecutors had asked the Colorado Supreme Court to consider allowing a third evaluation from their own medical expert, but the court blocked the additional review.

According to the arrest warrant, Rochester told police that she thought her 6-month-old son, Rylan Rochester, “was showing signs of autism” so she attempted to suffocate him with a plastic bag before putting blankets over his head the night before he died, 7News reports.

The affidavit went on to state that Rochester wanted to kill herself, but did not want to “burden her husband with a baby inflicted with autism.” For two years Rochester worked as a counselor at the Children’s Hospital and had worked with autistic children.

Rochester told detectives that she thought having an autistic child would emotionally and financially “ruin” her life, according to The Daily Camera.

Attorneys on both the prosecution and defense will now present Rochester’s insanity evidence to a judge to see if she should be committed to the state mental hospital.

(Daily Mail) - A mother who took photos of sex acts with her own son and daughter has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Candice Miller, 32, from Alva in Florida, sexually assaulted her children and emailed the pictures to a paedophile, who is now in jail.

She admitted sending them to Steven Demink, 41, who is serving life for a con in which he persuaded other women to send him pornographic images of their children.

He told women across the U.S. that he was a psychologist to persuade them to sexually assault their children as a form of therapy, then send him the images, NBC reported.

Police found more than 1,000 graphic images on Miller’s computer when she was arrested in October 2010.

These included photographs of her children, who were 10 and 14 at the time.

She could be seen performing sexual acts on one of the children in some of the photos.

During her trial it emerged Miller had met Demink, from Michigan, online.

They started having graphic conversations about Miller being nude around her children and about her taking showers with them.

This conversations progressed to discussions about sexually abusing the children and taking pictures.

Miller told the sheriff she had stopped taking the pictures because she ‘knew it was wrong’.

She had been facing up to 60 years, or life, in prison.

(Daily Mail) - Police were last night trying to stop Facebook vigilantes causing civil unrest after a one-month-old baby boy was raped and battered so badly that his heart stopped.

Messages on the social networking site revealed plans for a vigil near the home of the infant, who is thought to have suffered one of Britain’s worst cases of child abuse.

The baby’s horrific injuries were said to have included a broken arm, a broken collarbone, punctured lungs and severe bruising. It was said all of his ribs were fractured.

There was reportedly also a sexual injury and internal wounds, suggesting rape.

A man and a woman, from Gravesend, Kent, were arrested in connection with the incident. They have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

One Facebook group called ‘Jail the scum who raped and beat a one-month-old baby in Gravesend’ contained several messages calling for the parents to be named over the alleged abuse.

One post read: ‘These people need to be locked up not given bail. They are scum.’ One  local woman said: ‘We feel disgusted about this and we want to express our support for the child. The plan is to hold a vigil this evening.’

The unnamed baby was in a critical condition when taken to a hospital near his home on Thursday, but last night he was ‘showing signs of improvement’ after being transferred to a London hospital. Police forensic  experts have examined a house in Gravesend.

Neighbours said a man and a woman lived at the address with  a newborn baby.

They were described as ‘nice people, normal and polite’.

Another neighbour said she heard ‘a loud commotion’ at the house on Thursday morning.

(Daily Mail) - A Texas woman was arrested after relatives said they caught her having sex with a 15-year-old relative on Thanksgiving Day.

The scene unfolded at a family gathering held on the holiday at a house in Oakridge Forest Lane in Spring.

Police arrested Amanda Billiris, 23, after relatives said they witnessed her having sexual intercourse with the boy, the arrest report states.

The pretty avid motorcycle racer has been charged with sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony, reports the Houston Courier.

According to the Texas Penal Code, if convicted, she faces between two to 20 years in prison.

Ms Billaris may also be fined up to $10,000 if she is found guilty of the offence.

Billaris has been released on bond from the Montgomery County Jail.

The investigation continues, MCSO Lt. Dan Norris said in a statement to The Courier.

According to her own statements on the message boards at Motohouston.com, Mr Billiris, suffered serious injuries in a 2009 motorcycle crash when she was returning from a RideSmart event at Texas World Speedway which left her in a critical condition.

She said she received a severe blow to the head and internal injuries that will mean that she has to be on dialysis for the rest of her life.

Ms Billiris, who once owned a white and pink honda, would regularly make posts on Motohouston.com, which is a discussion forum for Houston’s local motorcycle riders.
